I’m with Duncan on this, motorsport has been my favoured dalliance for many, many years.
I’m old enough to remember Stirling Moss crashing at Goodwood and the rise of the sport through the ‘60s. I was a regular visit to the drag strip at Santa Pod but didn’t get to my first F1 race until 1983 when I found myself living within easy reach of Brands Hatch.
I have attended at least one F1 event every year since, although I realised that there was a bit of a gap in my photo collection around the end of the ‘90s. No coincidence that matched with the ‘Schumacher years’.
Next event for me is the British GP in a couple of weeks with my rolled over ticket from last year. I already have my Covid passport ready as it’s one of the government’s ‘test events’ with a full crowd. I will be fully masked up though.

Steve, I am fully jabbed and myself, my son, a close friend and his son are there all weekend, we also have tickets rolled over from last year, we are staying at Woodland campsite.
Last time I went regularly was back in the 80s to watch the sports cars in the 6 hours / 1000kms with the mighty Porsche 956 / 962 v Lancia LC2. You'll remember how easy it was to walk around the perimeter of the circuit, no fencing, access all area's. Not sure what to expect now but will be definitely heading to the W Series garages
Just to keep the the thread on track (pun intended) Tennis v Football, none motorsport!

Ah yes, Silverstone before the fences went up - heaven.
After the racing finished, the stewards would leave. Anyone left in the stands could hop over the barriers onto the track. 1990 was particularly good - there was a bar behind the pits and I spent the evening on the pitwall, with a pint watching the Ferrari team prep the cars for the next day. A certain Mr N.Mansell came out and joined me on the wall.
The following year, the stewards didn't leave, the fences had gone up and the crowd was ejected by 6.

Snetterton was the same - a great experience in the old days when you could wander anywhere and chat with the guys working the cars, but nowadays its all pay more to get close.
Cadwell Park was a favourite of mine as it was compact with some great viewing points.

Well it cant be footy or tennis this week thats keeping you lot quiet. Must be the golf open or British GP.
Sorry John (Yelrow), has that cycle race finished yet?

I don’t think many play trains this time of year Terry. I have the occasional quick look at the layout, switch on the power to see if the locos still move and that’s it.

Oh that's a shame, I check in here several times a day. Busy catching up after losing six weeks with my broken wrist.
