Glad to hear it went well, sound like you landed a nice bunch of neighbours too, which is always a bonus !

Thanks for all the kind words guys. We are knocking the jobs on the head one by one.

Still not got any layout work done yet. It stands in the cluttered garage awaiting resource.
SWMBO has a list a mile long of much more important jobs for me:
Laying LVT in dining room and bathroom - ✔️
Swapping every light fitting for a new LED designer lamp - mostly ✔️
New extractor fans in bathroom and en-suite to replace what sounded like diesel engined ones - ✔️
Build and instal kitchen cabinets for hob and oven - ✔️
Trouble-shooting the fan-light in the conservatory which does not seem to have a handy switch to control it, hence it doesn't work - TBD.
I have a new fan-light but that is ear-marked for the dining room (don't ask) - also TBD.
I should had have shares in Homebase paint the amount that has been slapped on the walls - mostly ✔️
Satellite LNB needed changing from Sky-Q to Freesat - ✔️.
Application has been made to and approved by the residents association (of which I am now a member) to knock down a short wall out front to improve parking from one slot to two, as we are not allowed to park on our private road - ✔️ Await builder to start next week.
Herself is chief gardener so I skived out of that, but got lumbered to mend fences and do gates, etc - ✔️
I think I am winning as the pile of boxes is getting smaller and I can now see from one end of the garage to the other, although old codgers and hard work combined with galloping up and down ladders, etc do not go well together.
'What's that - yes dear I am having a sit down for five minutes".

Extended parking is complete. Last room decorated, just carpet to remove and laminate flooring to lay. Thankfully I bought gel filled knee pads.

Back to the real task in hand. A rewire before I stand the layout back up again.

Back on its legs again... A bit of track to relay and some droppers to solder back on but not far off being able to run something.
