In real life Class 52s made the journey from Swansea to Leeds Central.
Here is Class52 numbered D1003 with the name Western Explorer in company of D9006 Fife & Forfar Yeomanry. The number D1002 is still to be affixed.

Class 142 on a Wetherby to Leeds Central service. Though out of timeframe the 142 belongs to my son and therefore appears on the layout.

And arriving at Roseville Station.. The Wetherby destination is for the return journey.

Class 27 27037 on a York to Leeds Central local train passing Canal Corner. The sun was shining through the window adding to the hazy look.

Class 26 26009 with a Leeds Central to Castleford local train passing Crown Point Yard. Matt Summers watches from his garden. One day he will tidy up his garden. Perhaps not.

Lot’s happening at Crown Point as usual…… spookily I also spent sometime today running both pairs of Class 26’s and 27’s on my layout…….. they were all a little stiff after being in storage for months, if not years for some of them, but once running these Heljan models are really smooth runners…….. strange that amongst 4 almost identical models, one of the Class 26’s runs nearly twice as fast as the others - must have a better standard of DCC decoder fitted !

Thank you for your comments Richard. They are appreciated.
My Class 25s 26s and 27 run the 2/3 carriage local services. The other locomotives are on 'long distance' ones. I try to run them all at least once a week.

Class 56 56035 with a short train of containers on a (Leeds) Stourton to Follingsby (near Newcastle) Locomotives will be changed at Leeds Goods Yard for the journey North.

Class 25 25218 with the train appearing near Roseville Station. The postman can be seen on his round. Days when dogs did not have to be on a lead. He has two dogs following him. It is there way of a daily walk.

As always, fantastic photography. The 'backstory' adds to the realism.

Thank you for your kind comments IanS.
I like to have a reason why particular trains are running. Researching those trains in real life is an added bonus.
Though only a small layout, the core train services are minimal. Adding 'diverted trains' when I like can make the layout appear busy.
