The Shankly and Gdynia Railway
Re: The Shankly and Gdynia Railway
Back in April I mentioned in Post 324 that one of my oldest and dearest friends, John, had died. Earlier this week I went to his funeral. John was a biker, so here are some more biker photos to mark the occasion.

Re: The Shankly and Gdynia Railway
Thanks Cheshire Lines, I certainly hope that it's a fitting tribute. Here are some more 'Biker John' photos, and then it'll be back to standard model railway photos. That said, I've got quite a few photos with John as a small distant figure in the urban landscape, so I think I'll drop these into the thread from time to time and see if people spot him. Rather in the mode of Where's Wally.
Re: The Shankly and Gdynia Railway
I've been trying out the cameras (four!) on my new mobile phone. One of them is a close-up camera, which is described as a 'macro', and another is 'live photo' - whatever that means. Here are a few of the results.

Re: The Shankly and Gdynia Railway
I haven't had any time for the railway this week as I've been redecorating the house, but here are some photos from a couple of weeks ago.

That is very nice! Did you paint that yourself?

Re: The Shankly and Gdynia Railway
Thank you for your positive feedback Glencairn and Darkscot. Regarding the LMS Diesel Shunter, no I didn't paint it myself. That's exactly how Hornby made it. It doesn't actually belong to me, it's my son's. Four years ago for his 11th birthday, I offered to buy him a train pack and he chose this one. It came complete with three wagons for the grand total of £35. If I had realised what a brilliant runner it was, I would have bought another half a dozen. Its reliability has earnt it the name Old Faithful.
Here are some more experiments using with the macro (close-up) camera on my new phone. It's certainly got potential.

Can you see the touching up I did on the Pigman photo using the computer?

Re: The Shankly and Gdynia Railway
As you seem to like the shunter Darkscot, I did a little photo shoot with it. There's a sort of beginning, a middle and an end.

Since I took these photos, I've changed a fair bit of the scenery on the layout, so hopefully my next batch of photos will have a slightly different look to it.
