It sticks out futher because the Crank pin and connecting rod required extra clearence.
Yes, just pointing out to Steve that the splashers are correct on the model. Hornby didn’t make them like that, Mr C Collett was the culprit
I can see that loco is going to look great when Steve has finished.

That Collett chappie has a lot to answer for.

A little more done this morning. Getting close to the finer details now so I’ll let the transfers dry thoroughly then look at a sealing coat of varnish to allow the model to be handled a little easier.

Not too bad, thanks. Not needing quite so many meds but I still need to give the shed a quick blast with the fan heater each morning. But that just proves I am a soft, southern Jessie.

You've done a great job there Steve - looking forward to seeing the finished loco.

So is Sandy!!
The tricky detailing is next. I will have to get inventive - it turns out that the ‘complete loco’ transfers from Fox aren’t actually fully complete.

I have fan heater in mine as well. I am setting up a spray booth in the shed. Not up and running yet but you have inspired me to have a go. But I am not running away with the idea it is easy. A turn table came with the spray booth and got electrics down to the shed now. I got some buildings waiting for some paint to practice on.
