Re: Wykeham - Somewhere in the south!
Seems we're in a similar situation, Carl. Since I'm still wiring up and sorting out defects, there's been no scenic development on my layout either. The pix on flickr - https://www.flickr.com/photos/53775591@N06/ - will give you a idea of the chaos. Sometimes I feel I spend more time looking for mislaid tools than actually doing any work.
Cheers,
Artur

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that spends time looking for tools (and various cables).RSR Engineer wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 10:27 am Seems we're in a similar situation, Carl. ............ Sometimes I feel I spend more time looking for mislaid tools than actually doing any work.

I have a little "invisible person" (Enter Ghost/Leprechaun/Fairy etc to suit) in my model room who moves tools and materials every time I want to pick up and reuse something that I've just used!

I have an old small yellow handled screwdriver I use for opening paint tins. It is always there in front of me on the work table. It’s gone. It isn’t at you place by any chance Brian?

Not this one by chance?
SWMBO used it years ago to open and then stir a tin of paint. She still uses it, but fails to clean it after use!
Best we don't take this off topic now though

Re: Wykeham - Somewhere in the south!
A degree of normality resumes in the railway room - I have had a major "tidy up" - the floor is clear. My workbench is just a 24" x 12" section of baseboard that sits above my control panel - everything gets done on this bench - as you can see, the bus is just about to get lights, and the horses have just had a coat of matt lacquer. The biggest problem is that I am running out of storage room underneath the boards.

My "work bench" is the same size as yours Barry but I guess if it was bigger the work space would be just the same, filled with all sorts of bits and pieces.

As I said before, a very nice set up, a great 'bolt hole'. I really am being shamed into a tidy up at board level and even more so a good clear out underneath. What is it with us railway modellers, why don't we throw anything out?
