Re: Space X launch tonight
I was watching the landing but switched off before the explosion. It didn't look too happy mind you, leaning slightly to one side with a large fire at the base which appeared to have been extinguised before I went to bed. Still an incredible achievment when you think this is taller than a Saturn 5.

Hi Ian - it didn't actually crash as such. It landed as it should, although they thought one of the landing legs had collapsed, as it was standing on the pad, but leaning very slightly to one side. About ten minutes later it sort of launched itself and exploded - it was all quite dramatic. Barry

Re: Space X launch tonight
Do these Starlink satellites drop to earth periodically as they keep launching more and more, so the dotted line I see in the sky must be starting to join up.

I read that they have launched(?) 1000 Starlink satellites - the target is 1440 - so a few more launches to come.

I missed it this morning, but a Falcon 9 launched this morning at 11.01am (GMT), with yet more Starlink satellites - I think I read there are now 1345 in the chain. A successful launch and landing- this rocket has been used nine times.
