Bandit Mick wrote: Thu Jan 06, 2022 9:40 am That looks really effective. I like it a lot. Just an observation - would it look even better if the colours on the photo were a little muted? By no means a criticism, just a thought.
It might Mick - there are a large number of similar pictures on Google Images. I have not made up my mind on the final outcome :|

Some progress - albeit slow. Still have the plate girder bridge to position and then some graffiti and bushes to be added.

That’s starting to look very good indeed Barry. R-

Great effect Barry. In the arches with the Land Rover the view is the same in both. The right view need to carry on from where the left one finishes if that is possible.

I agree with Brian, the effect is fantastic but the arch images need a bit of tweaking- it will be exceptional then.
A single trackway in the car park arches and no sky in the main arch as there is a disconnect with the foliage above.

Thanks for the comments - I understand what you are both saying, and agree. I'll have a think.

Hello Barry
I thought I would put in my ideas of tweaking the last picture you have posted.
If the tops of the tree line was tapered at an angle from the top of the left hand pillar that will support the bridge towards the top of the backscenes then replaced with sky it would look like the trees are growing on an embankment behind the wall. You would have to carefully trim the tree line around the branches and leaves. The sky would open up the old railway line giving the effect of depth running way into the distance. Hope this makes sense.
Just a thought that it may work.

Thanks for the idea Bob. I have at the moment removed the sky under the bridge by cutting a square which removed everything between the bridge and bridge supports - this leaves a view of trees, which matches what is above the bridge. I now need to sort the car park exit/entrance. I think it will look ok once bushes etc. are in place. Barry

Barry, it is so good, so convincing, my first thought was, do they want colunteers to help cut back the greenery!
The old Landy is as iconic legend in miniature form as it is in reality.
Alot of what we do is an illusion, and any background, rather than "the room" helps preserves that illusion... but I'm preaching to the converted. :D

Thanks Dave - it is a case of creating an illusion that there is more depth than there really is. I have almost finished the job. The sky has gone from under the bridge, the bridge front is now in place, suitably weathered with some graffiti, bushes are rampant. There is also now a fence behind the buffers to distinguish where British Rails land ownership ends. I just need to get the scene through the car park exit/entrance portals sorted. I forgot when I took the last picture, that I had glued that section of walling to the backscene, so I now have to try and cut a couple of portal sized pictures to replace the one currently seen - then it's finished. Watch this space
