Snow anyone

i asked this question so i suppose i could say my bit and i`m sure i`ll be corrected if i`m wrong

i was born in 1960

i was told the snow was on the ground from December until March and when it thawed because the ground/grassy areas where covered for a long time ,there was a bad smell like rotting vegetation

now i remember my mother and my grandma and her neighbour holding handkerchiefs to there faces ,i was sat at my grandmas kitchen table

maybe i could of been another scenario but i also remember very,very big mounds of snow pilled up around the village we lived in

and to save another thread .......... i am re-purposing my loft ,so my day of model railwaying have ended after 12 years ,not long really

I remember finishing school early due to smog. Used to wrap a scarf around our heads to cover our nose and mouth.

I remember that, and then having to walk a couple of miles home as the buses were not running.

Cold but bright & sunny, no sign of snow.

Too much of it here in wirral along with idiots throwing snow at vehicles in a bid to try and obstruct drivers vision when out on the roads

All I can say is it has started to rain here in Gretna washing away the snow we got this morning. It was only a wee bit. Mind you could be snowing later on. I don't have a lot of confidence in the weather forecast.

Travelling past Alnwick in Northumberland on the A1 at around 3pm today there were a few flurries of snow for around 5mins - nothing lying as a result and the gritters were out.
