I always thought driving a 4-4-0 must have been rough with one of the main drivers under or in some cases next to the cab

The locos that I like the look of (Which I don't know that much about them) are the broad gauge singles. Also thw standard gauge singles as well. They just look such exciting engines to see at speed, especially broad gauge versions!
The mid to late 1800's must have been exciting times for watching the trains go by, especially as some of those broad gauge singles were said to touch great speeds in their day.

I’ve always been a Castle,King and Duchess fan living in there area when I was a child, the Castles and Kings always gave me the impression as looking more powerful with double chimneys.
The Duchess’s always gave us lads a real buzz when passing the cutting below Tamworth station on west coast main line. So for pure wow factor the Duchesses would be my choice.

Why would she do that, she has great taste like PT.
Just to let you know, my absolute favourite steam loco is the V2.
Off course she has great taste -- double chimney
And I'll keep the right side of her.

LNER eh!
Not a V2 but a locomotive I saw quite a lot.

Now that's a proper loco!
