Thanks Roger.
I've just started wallpapering the inside of the branch line signal box with baco-foil. With an LED installed inside, it has an eerie orange glow. Baco-foil is a great light blocker and sticks well with PVA. Barry

Manydown signalbox has now been lined-out in bacofoil - and the roof, which has also had a coat of paint. I need to put in a new floor - V-grooved plasticard is in the post. The Ratio signal box interior is awaiting construction and the paint brush and of course a light needs to be installed in the roof.
The bacofoil is a great light blocker - it is very thin and sticks to most things with PVA - it doesn't matter which side you have showing (I have the dull side) as it's going to be painted.

Absolutely love your lit street scene - pure dedication or what! As a matter of interest/nicking good ideas, what method or commercial lighting rig are you using for lighting your buildings if you don’t mind me asking.

If it were facing the other way, it might have been possible to get the headlights working with a couple of short lengths of fibre optic. I did not add passengers, although there is a guy about to jump off the platform at the rear. Not a job I'll be doing again.
Great scene......

Thanks guys.

Bandit - the lights are just 12v LED's pre-wired on a small paxolin plate (eBay) - which are then connected to a 12v bus. The bus under the street is made from 1.5mm copper rods with a bit of either red or black heat shrink to identify +/- , and then the wires just drop through a small hole in the board and soldered to the rods. Power to the rods is through a 12v PSU connected to a voltage regulator (dimmer switch). In some cases, for example - the street lights - needed resistors - these are just soldered to the rods, with one wire from the street light soldered to the resistor and one to the rod. BB

Barry,

These wagons go absolutely perfectly with your layout ...... unless tomorrow is a cracker it would appear that there is nothing for me in the Advent calendar this year...... also not holding my breath that Santa is going to deliver anything railway related, so will stash my cash for any New Year bargains !

Compliments of the season - Richard
