Out resident Hoopu is back, along with our swifts. They nest here before taking their young home with them. Superb to watch in flight.o

Three trees taken down last week due to die back.
As Brian commented it’s getting expensive.

we saw him on our roof, 5 years ago. Must admit, i had no idea what it was, but Heather knew. He now comes every year, sits on Telephone wires and makes that crazy call. Fortunately, for any doubters, we have some great photos. Making it up, ROG, the very idea.

My wife saw one in the UK many years ago, they occasionally arrive on the wrong sort of wind.

Before moving to Gretna we used to live in real remote part of Scotland in a lovely stone cottage and the wild life was wonderful. Here in Gretna all we see are Sparows Starlings Black birds Pigeons and Gulls. Lots of Gulls. And can they muck your car up seconds after you washed it.

In the middle of nowhere and it is only an hours drive though the countryside from gretna. This is the best weather we have had for a while gonna make the most of it.
