Funny drills ect came up. As I mentioned couple of weeks ago I did my shoulder in using a screw driver and I have been looking for a reasonable priced Drill with driver clutch. Battery or mains. I did have a Parkside which was wonderful but batteries are US now. Time got knew one. But will not be paying Makita money. You lucky devil Brian..............................John
PS shoulder is much better so will be getting with layout soon.

I could use them for you. I had a couple of battery ones years ago, and could never wear the batterys out. Gave them to my lad, and have just bought him a Hitachi, to replace them. Heather bought my an Einhill, last xmas, new make to me, but tis excellent. This xmas, she added the 18 volt saw.

There used to be four or five model shops in Newcastle. As far as I know there isn't one now. There is Pooleys Puffers in Team Valley, Gateshead, (no affiliation). That is the only one I know in the area.

Hello Glencairn,,,,,,,,,, Far as I know the nearest proper Model Railway model shop is down in Stanley near Beamish County Durham. I was in there last year, I bought an Air brush and a spraying booth. It is very impressive shop with just about any thing and if he does not have he will get it. But that was a year ago and presume he is still here. Long way from Berwick though...................John

I'm quite sure the location people are talking about - Team Valley and Stanley are in the north east.

There is http://www.tynedaletrains.co.uk/about-us/ somewhere close to Hexham, although I can't find an address from them so they may be an online presence mainly, apart from local Railway Exhibitions.

Ians, you are spot on. They have no retail premises. On line sales, and exhibitions only. Quite a good system.
