Is this the colour scheme that is officially described as purple? Whatever, it looks very nice indeed.

Hornby say..."Princess Marie Louise was one of four 'Princess Royals' to receive the experimental British Railways Blue livery in November 1950, before switching to BR Green with emblems in August 1953. "

I still have an OO King in blue Howard. I think they look good that colour but it wasn’t ideal for steam locos. The heat from the boiler discoloured the paint which is why they reverted to green which wasn’t affected. Didn’t affect the A4's because the streamline cladding wasn’t wrapped round the boiler.

Thanks for that, Brian. It certainly is a very impressive model, thought I would treat myself having saved much cash not buying petrol last 12 months so invested in the NRM 9F Evening Star and this Princess. Have got no further with O gauge, just the Dapol Terrier now with sound, due to lack of space. Maybe do something in the garden :? .........HB

Nice bits, Stese. Any chance of pulling this beauty out of storage? I reckon it would be a fine thing to see her gliding over those points.

I’m mad about electrics, so while both are nice, I was thinking about the RC2.
