Is this the colour scheme that is officially described as purple? Whatever, it looks very nice indeed.

Hornby say..."Princess Marie Louise was one of four 'Princess Royals' to receive the experimental British Railways Blue livery in November 1950, before switching to BR Green with emblems in August 1953. "

Re: Your latest acquisition
I still have an OO King in blue Howard. I think they look good that colour but it wasn’t ideal for steam locos. The heat from the boiler discoloured the paint which is why they reverted to green which wasn’t affected. Didn’t affect the A4's because the streamline cladding wasn’t wrapped round the boiler.
Nurse, the screens!
Re: Your latest acquisition
Thanks for that, Brian. It certainly is a very impressive model, thought I would treat myself having saved much cash not buying petrol last 12 months so invested in the NRM 9F Evening Star and this Princess. Have got no further with O gauge, just the Dapol Terrier now with sound, due to lack of space. Maybe do something in the garden .........HB

Nice bits, Stese. Any chance of pulling this beauty out of storage? I reckon it would be a fine thing to see her gliding over those points.
Re: Your latest acquisition

i'm hoping to have the time to get out into the shed and get things moving this weekend... no promises, however!

I’m mad about electrics, so while both are nice, I was thinking about the RC2.
Re: Your latest acquisition
I'll try and get a video of it trundling up and down the yard... if not, i might drag the xmas train set out, and run it around there for a while...
