The "Golly" logo was dropped some time ago by Robertsons so this could be a rare item now.

The Electrotren chassis is a superb runner and getting hold of a boxed body for it really ices the cake.

Yep, 2002 to be precise is when it was retired - officially not due to PC pressure but because the company wished to move on. The announcement states
"We are retiring Golly because we found families with kids no longer necessarily knew about him. We are not bowing to political correctness, but like with any great brand we have to move with the times."

Detail on Electrotren models is amazing, but so fragile.
I have a few bits to put back like wing mirror, bogie details, buffer beam stuff, etc and a general clean to get rid of finger prints but really chuffed with it.

Some recent purchases via e-bay. All sold as non-runners for spares or repair. All motors do actually work but probably need a good cleaning.

They were bought to convert to DCC and to practice cleaning on.

I've still not worked out how to get into the 09 026 numbered one which is a Lima and described as a class 08 in the sale.

The 2 class 25's have had their bodies removed and not fully refitted. Converting them looks to be a simple job of cutting 2 wires to the motor and replacing the lights with led - I probably won't bother with red to show in one direction and white in the other as they're unlikely to be running light. Directional front lights should be enough for me.

I also got a DCC fitted Bachmann Class 25 fairly cheaply - it works on 9v battery DC but doesn't respond to loco 03 so will need a hard reset. No photo of this. I'm also still working out where the screws are on it!
