For what it's worth; whereas previously the ash resembled the aftermath of a snowstorm, the application of dilute PVA to harden the top surface to a workable condition has brought out a nice variation in tones and areas, quite happy with that.

A little progress, pottering I think you'd call it, compared to the speed some other members achieve :D

Anyway, the backscenes have been given a quick once over, which seems to contain the layout better, and the first low relief building placed in rough position. There is still a cornice to be applied and a second one to go in alongside. I've started to work on trying to achieve the over grown, run down look of the yard and done the so on the main running lines, after all it's not supposed to be a main line but more like a goods branch. I can't believe how stark the unweathered top of the coaling tower looks, so that will get blitzed this next week.

Coming along nicely Carl. That ballast needs a bit of gunge - too clean. :D

Thank you and agreed the track is far far too clean. One of those jobs where the brush hovers over the track on one of those shall I shan't I moments, instead of just going for it. I waste far too much time hovering and dithering.

Mine is just as clean. Once I sort out the point rodding on the shed board, I can do the ballasting on there, then I can think about weathering the whole lot in one operation.

Brilliant stuff. Neptune Street is one of my faves.

Sorry to ask, but any chance we might ever glimmy a vid of this masterpiece?

Kind comments indeed, thank you. I might struggle with a video, I do have one or two but as I don't do social media or have anything like a Flickr account I can't post it, unless anyone can advise me otherwise.
