Hello Brian,,,,,,,,,,,, I waited untill I saw 7178 Little Blue Engine,, before answering you about the colour. I did not expect it to be quite so light blue. Now it has arrived it is the correct dark blue I thought it was. The photo was well over exposed. It also turned out to be brand new and a wonderful slow runner. Gwr grey (my choice)
Br black
And red (I assume oxide)

Hope it’s cheaper than the Bachmann OO gauge version.

I think it is more likely to be buffer red type of colour rather then oxide red... However time will tell when the put pictures up.

My bet is oxide.

Yes it is.

If memory serves me correct,
A small section of track was laid within the perimeter fence to help facilitate the construction/enlargement of the aerodrome But was removed upon completion.

However I can find no pictures.

The airfield/railway share a fence, and, the enlarged airfield actually crossed the lines.
With double (wing sized) crossing gates.
