Thank you Brian. For isolating rails I’ve been using the black switches connected directly to the rail terminals.
I understand red switches are for points & can multiple ‘common’ wires be connected to one output on the controller?

Hi
Red Point levers can be common feed from a separate 16volt AC power source. Commoned on their single terminal side, linking one to the next from the 16v AC supply. The other 16v supply wire goes directly to the each point motor common terminal. Again linking one motor to the next. Use 16/0.2mm wire for all motor operation wiring.
Some DC controllers offer a separate 16v AC outlet for point motor operation. You cannot use the 'controlled' (Track) output for points.

Understood, many thanks.

Could you recommend a suitable controller for points operation please?

Hi
You do not need a controller for just point operation! You can use a 18 to 21 volt DC power supply or the Gaugemaster WM3
All along with a Capacitor Discharge Unit (CDU) Normally only one CDU is needed for the whole layout.
However if you want an additional controller that can also provide 16v AC then look at the excellent Gaugemaster cased controllers.
Note; Gaugemaster items are sold by other stockist and are frequently sold cheaper than Gaugemaster themselves!

How does the H&M Powermaster compare to the Duette?

Range Rider, hi, why can you not run your points from uncontrolled 16 v outlet on your Duette ?.

That is my intention… but Powermaster can run multiple tracks..?

Hi
The old H&M Powermaster has one track output (See example below). It has six isolating section switches which its single controlled output can be feed to any of these sections, when the appropriate switch is turned on.
The only H&M dual track DC controller was the old Duette.
