A classic season that should have been remembered as the greatest comeback in F1 history and an eight time Workd Champion has been tarnished by a whole host of mistakes by the race officials.

With five races to go Hamilton effectively had to win all five to take the title - he did exactly that until the race director made up his own rules for the last lap. Unforgivable incompetence.

I read the other day that Verstappen felt that Hamilton had been very lucky throughout his career.
If it was true that he did say that, People in glasshouses came to mind.

It's a rich man's sport Bob. I was just reading that Lando Norris's dad is the 501st richest man in the UK - I know 501 is a long way down the list, but it means he has a few bob. I also read recently that another driver's father had just paid several hundred million for another drivers fathers yacht. There are very few that have initially made it on raw talent - which gets them noticed/signed-up at an early age. I think both Lewis and Max probably fall into that category.

They used to say the golfer, Gary Player, was lucky.

My son has come up trumps for the last couple of years and has bought me a ticket to Silverstone for Friday practice as a birthday present.
This year he is taking his partner instead. I know where I stand in his list of priorities.
Not all bad news as the two of us are now going to the first day of the MotoGP at Silverstone instead.

I now have to buy my own ticket to the GP - I know, it’s a hard life.

The price for one day is not that much different from my costings for the cancelled 5 day trip to Barcelona!

I see they have ‘clarified’ the ‘back-markers must catch up before the safety car comes in’ rule, which if correctly in place last season would have favoured LH ahead of MV.
