I have a rechargeable vacuum which seems to take all day to charge for about 20 minutes sucking.

Might be wrong but I think these type of mini vacs have cheaper type batteries that don't like being continuously plugged into the charger. A previous one I had burned round the charge point so I only leave it's replacement plugged in fir no longer than it takes to fully charge.

We use Dyson animals. Bought two new ones last year one upstaira and one down. Not rechargable just plug and go. £199 each guarranteed 5 years. Wonderful machines. Keep one in railway room. Reading this has turned me off rechargables.

TWD I do the same. Mine doesn’t have a rack to to hang it in to charge, I have to plug in a lead. Just have to remember to plug it in 6 hours before I need to use it.

...It will handle wet and dry and appears to have plenty of suction - I doubt I will use it for "wet" vacuuming...

I once had a Black & Decker vac like this. It was brilliant until I used the 'wet' function, it was never the same again.

Couldn’t resist this pre-owned gem from the local model shop. Just need to get the head code disc and buffer beam detail pack and then it will most definitely going off for some heavy weathering, may add half yellow ends.

And for one had a couple of hours just playing trains - I can’t remember the last time!
