This marvelous set is the second I've purchased, the first used in the Manhattan Transfer Subway Microlayout. It will be used to transport miners from village to collier, automatically, on "Henley." It is a little know fact, in fact,
very, very little known that Henley was a major producer of coal. In fact, it is so little known, that you won't be able to ever find a reference to this once thriving industry.
The other set was put to use in this contrivance:

(I believe it was you blokes call "The Tube." Some are quick to point out that New York subways are rectangular in shape, owing to the "cut and cover" method of construction. However, I am reasonably certain that some of the deeper lines are of the tube variety.)

Only taken 21 months since pre-ordering LOL. Now need to find some time to get back to the railway room and try them out! Nice packaging
UPDATE: Couldn't wait to try them out. Lovely smooth runners, excellent detail. Only gripe would be the lighting is too bright for this era of coaches.

Chops most miners and Colliery workers in Britain used to walk to work and most lived in houses built by the mines for the miners close to the mines.

Such incredible detail for something so small. I have modelled in N gauge previously so the small size doesn't phase me too much (despite my 78 year old eyes!).
Not sure yet whether to add it to my existing 00 layout or create an all new 009 only one. Does anyone else on here model in 009?

Very nice Brian - you will soon need a bigger layout to accommodate your "growing" collection
