Modern crossings don’t bother about stopping traffic from going on the track, always thought it was a bit strange.
I have always noticed that normally when things are designed for the first time it is always done in the most complicated way, and later others think of easier ways of doing it.

Next small project underway. I picked up the Ratio grounded coach body recently and although the suggested paint scheme is ‘dirty browns and greys’, I have decided to do my grimy weathering over an old livery.
In this case a pastiche of the L&NWRly coaching livery. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be perfect - it isn’t, but it should be a good base to work from.
