Postman now painted. Posties in the 50s/60's had red piping around the lapels and cuffs of their jackets - this took a bit of doing - I used a pin to apply the paint.

Looks like the airlines are though, that’s why one of the pilots is looking at the train timetable.

Lovely looking scene, Barry. Took me back to when I was in Leeds and Newcastle as a 'postie' in the 50s/90s.
One minor thing. My uniform had red piping down the side of the trouser legs.

On Google Images there is a very nice picture (a painting) of a 50/60's postie, but it does not show the legs. I think putting a stripe down this guys trousers would be difficult as he is crouching down and the trousers are somewhat crumpled.

Quite so, Barry. Putting the piping on the lapels and cuffs is hard enough.,
and well done.
Just that your comment (imo) gave the impression that the piping was on the jacket only. My comment was more to inform anyone else painting a figure of a postman.
Years gone the uniform was red with little amount of blue. Then changed to blue with a broad red stripe on the side of the leg and on the cuffs of the jacket. Over time the stripes became thinner, Now the red uniform is back. I don't understand the wearing of shorts though?
