I slowed the doors down to a moderate crawl and added the smallest drop of oil to each pivot - virtually no jerky movements at all now. :D

I’ve also been thinking about the slight warping of the shed structure. I don’t particularly want to build a new one and to get a similar four lane shed would need modifications to at least two Bachmann NER sheds (megabucks) and I’d probably have to change the rail spacing as well - so that’s unlikely to happen.
My thoughts are now turning to removing the roof as a complete unit (I don’t even know if that is remotely possible) then warming the resin walls and putting some tension on them to straighten them out.
If I can get them level, I can fix them permanently to the baseboard and the new door frames with a removable roof for track cleaning and stuck locos.

I just need to work out where to make the cuts.

I am told they have a 180 degree potential but I am fairly sure the speed of operation cannot be adjusted. R-
You are correct about speed control which is why I went back to an ESU servo controller for my level crossing gates. I still use Megapoint controllers for my points and signals.

The shed doors look very good. I didn't see the speed of opening as a problem - the grandchildren would think it was "cool" whatever speed they open.

Finished the modifications to straighten out the twist in the building. The walls are now glued to the baseboard and the roof is removable - it was that that was causing the twist. I managed to warm it up and correct most of the warping but I’ve secured the removable sections with pins drilled through the ridge moulding - seems to hold them in alignment quite well. I’ve framed the doors with stained coffee stirrers to make that a bit neater.
I’ve also revisited and tidied up the wiring for the interior lights and tried my hand at weathering the roof with oils for the first time.

Very good - it looks old. The corrugated iron roof looks realistic.

I agree the corrugated roof looks very realistic and brings the whole thing together nicely.
