6-55pm : After leaving the coal wagons on the coal supply road, the Jinty now has to return the brake van to the goods yard.
She is seen here exiting the shed onto the Up Main
before crossing over to the Down Main
and then shunting across to the branch
and then to the goods yard where the brake van will be detached on a siding as instructed by the yard foreman.

After waiting for an Up loaded ICI limestone hopper train to pass at 7pm, the Jinty exits the yard
and retraces her steps to the loco shed
and returns to the coaling supply road.

7-15pm : Ex LNER J39 0-6-0 number 64791 passes through with a freight on the Down Main.
The train comprises two box vans and three bogie well wagons carrying electrical equipment.

7-45pm : Gresley V2 tank number stands in platform 2 with a Down Local.
A few minutes later she pulls out of the station
and rounds the curve past the goods shed.

8pm : Ivatt class 2MT 2-6-2T rounds the curve approaching Lostock Junction with an Up Local.
and is seen again framed between the water tower and the engineers train stabled in the shed headshunt.
before coming to rest in platform 1.

8-05pm : Ex LNER J50 0-6-0T number 68959 rounds the curve past the locoshed with a short trip freight, comprising one lowmac and a brake van.
A few minutes later she passes through the station on the Up Main
before coming to a halt opposite the exchange sidings.
She then propels her train back onto the sidings of Albion Engineering Ltd.
Leaving the brake van on one siding she then pulls forward again
before shunting the lowmac onto the other siding. The engineering company have hired in a road crane to unload the large packing case on the lowmac, which contains a brand new widget making machine.
The J50 then collects the brake van before heading back to the main line.
