You have not got a lot of room, but what would add to the scrap yard theme would be a wagon being loaded with scrap. But there again, the scrap metal could be going by road.... Looks like they have a lot of metal to work on! Just seen in your picture. You have road transport ready!
It is surprizing how many places old locos were cut up. It seems that almost everyone wheeling and dealing who had cutting equipment was bidding. I noticed that two small locos were cut up near where I live in what must have been an old colliery siding or loop. I think the were GWR 0-4-2's. I was rather surprized to see this! It must have been a family and friend type of operation. They would probably be kicking themselves today though, but it goes to show how many locomotives were being sold, and also the opportunity to make money at the time for those willing to take on such a job.

As I and most of my family have been heavily involved in road transport, my oldest grandson (who is very interested in road transport also,) has 'commandeered' my low loader I had placed at 'Marston's Yard. He didn't get the scrapped engine that was on it though.

Waiting at the signal as as a diverted down 'Thames Clyde' express to Leeds Central and Glasgow clears the junction.

By now I guess you know I do not go for the prim and proper look. The number of times I have travelled on a train that is a secondary route and heard branches of trees 'thwack' the side of a carriage. The hedgerows overgrown and being unable to see a train properly. Nature in control.
