Back Again

Post by wecpcs »

Hi, I was surprised to find out the forum had disappeared and reappeared again since I last logged in, which I must admit was quite a few months ago. I have not touched my layout at all this year, but I must get back to it when the weather warms up a bit. Nice to see a lot of the old members are still about.

Colin

PS Why did it disappear in the first place

In laymans terms which I am, who ever was hosting the site no longer wished to do so. For a short period it disappeared and seemed its time was over, until Flashbang came to the rescue.

Welcome back - it's still the same mix of knowledgeable folks and new starters with a lot in between.

After my initial post, I decided I decided to give it all up and Flashbang came to my rescue and he put a few pics of my layout for anyone interested (which I cannot find at all now on the site), all F.O.C. as long as they came and helped me dismantle it and take it all away, including my console I built for it with a diode matrix route selection system.

All housed in a 10x8 shed with continuous double track running as well as end to end, comprising of around 32 Peco Streamline points and 2 double slips and a Heljan turntable and various buildings.

But alas no one was interested in at all, so now several years later I have decided to dismantle it completely and put bits up for sale cheaply or FOC when I get enough posts to be able to do so. I also have a number of LNER steam locos all virtually brand new in their boxes all chipped as well as a number of Hornby LNER carriages again all boxed with a few unboxed where I changed the plastic wheels/axles to metal ones as well as a few goods wagons.

I will have to find out to list pics of my layout and rolling stock when I find out how to do it, because on the previous site you could upload from your PC, but now you have to do it a different way.

I will be back in touch shortly.

Sad to hear you are giving up, it seems a few members are finding health and old age is catching up on them recently. If you need to contact Flashbang he has now passed on ownership of the forum but remains a moderator and has changed his moniker to simply Brian.

Hi
Thanks for your reply, I have tried uploading some pics of my layout, in the member layout under Bayview Halt, but they keep appearing in a vertical column instead of horizontally, so have you any idea what I am doing incorrectly.

I have seen the pics and it is the same for all uploads. If you select a picture it opens in a new window and can be zoomed into for a closer look.
