setting off forum links to a new page/tab

#1

Post by collectors »

Hi, would be nice if the external links were set to open in a new page/tab to save losing the forum when you click on an external link. There is usually a setting in the admin for this with a choice of: "_blank|_self|_parent|_top" & seem to be set at "_self" & "_blank" would be a nice way to keep the forum live.
Assuming the admin has this facility. Only an idea.

It does that on my iPad. The link appears on a new tab next to the forum tab.

I just click the ‘back’ button and it returns to the previous page - no issue for me. :?:

It's just a lot easier & quicker to have two tabs open for a lot of reasons like cutting & pasting & comparisons. I could easily just right click & open in a new tab/page if i remember to do this. Its just common practice to open in a new window/tab with most other forums, so i tend to forget when browsing here.

Depending on your browser you may be able to set it to default to this. If you are using a mouse you can right click on a link and choose "open link in new window"
