Underlay/Not Underlay?

I'm building a small extension board to my N Gauge shelf layout to take it across the doorway. It is MDF with lengths of wood running under it for stability.
It won't have much track work, a length and passing loop at a station. I've used cork roll for underlay in the past but given the only real reason is noise baffling I'm in two minds with this bit. It never seems to make much difference, especially as it's glued to the board so becomes almost as solid.

I guess with OO it might be different given the larger sizes, but N is so small and light that I'm starting to think it may be a waste of time and money.

Opinions?

It doesn’t really make ant difference what ever the scale particularly if you decide to ballast the track. If you have already added it to the rest of the track then it might be best to carry on doing so.

Yep I'd agree with that. it may not be be a complex section but it will ensure that your track levels remain constant.

That is the most important thing.
