When new, cobalt point motors are centred. Is there a way of re-centering when reusing? And does it matter?

PS they’re analogue motors.

No it doesn't matter, but the Analogue Cobalt IP is centred by switching off the power mid stroke.
The digital version is self centred by ,,,, To Activate self-Centring : Put the switch into the “Set” position * Set the address to 199 * To do this use your controllers instructions for changing an accessory or a turnout* Repeat twice to be sure *

Be careful reactivating self centering on the digital one, I have had a few die after address 199 was written to them.

It happened to 2 out of 12 so quite a high failure percentage and not very impressive given the high price, I would have expected a much lower failure rate.

Had other issues not for an open forum, needless to say I will not be buying anything else from them

If they died and didn't just lose their address, then return them to DCC Concepts in Settle Yorkshire. They will repair or replace them FOC as they have a lifetime warranty.

Given the other issue I had with them and one of their supplies selling on eBay the faulty ones were sent to the big point motor home in the sky AKA the local recycling centre.

Now as they slowly die I just replace them with servos.
