Hornby R9057 trakmat

#1

Post by Berryman »

Hello everyone,
Thank you very much for adding as a new member. I'm a big fan of Hornby (00) and Jouef (H0).
I want to build a small layout using the track plan of the famous Hornby R9057 trakmat. It will be a little bit downsized (1.27m x 1.00m) because I don't have enought room for the full version (and not enought money). Did someone already build this layout ? Many thanks in advance for your advices.

Be cautious about using the R604/R605 1st radius curves. They are very tight and have been known to cause issues with some locos and coaches.

If you can fit it in, go for R606/R607 (2nd radius curves) and R608/R609 (3rd radius curves).

(and welcome!)

Hi Chris - Welcome to the forum. There are a number of "Trackmat" layouts on Youtube - it gives you an idea of what can be achieved. There are a number of Trackmats - I have not used it, but do have R8011, which I think may be the one used in the link below. BB

For example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7FU-LraeW4

A very good advice but I really don't have enought space for these curves.

1st rad curves will be fine if you just run small locos.
