Our hobby greatly benefits from enthusiasts who take their enthusiasm further and become the producers and vendors of specialised items that greatly benefit the rest us. Without their services our hobby will be much poorer. Frequently the operations are one person bands and are therefore vulnerable to the normal events of life particularly because they are often set up.as paying hobbies by individuals of similar age to many of us enthusiasts. They can suddenly disappear without trace presumably because relatives have little knowledge or understanding of the value and effort that they represent. I believe (but have no direct knowledge) that ABM railcraft may have been one such. An excellent range of laser cut card models featuring buildings of the constituent companies of the Southern Railway and the Somerset and Dorset has disappeared completely. No doubt many hours of work appear to be completely lost. My question is what can we do if anything to prevent similar losses in the future? Whilst because i wasn't sure where else to put it i have put the subject in the 4mm section it equally applies to other gaiges.

In the past before the pollution of the flow of the internet came along (Which has many blessings but many curses with it), a small business somehow was a little less likely to dissapear without being noticed. I don't know why, but back then we seemed to be more connected somehow even though it seems a strange thing to say.
