I have a small portable table top layout. I am going to attach one small length of track as an out of scene "fiddle yard". This piece needs to be detachable. It will be the same board height so it can fit on the dining room table.

How do I attach the two?

(Please ignore join "H", it is a shocker)

A couple of carriage bolts through the end panels would do. Or a couple of alignment dowels and some over centre catches to hold the boards together.
