Easily distracted......

I thought I would indulge in traditional Bank Holiday activities namely a fresh coat,or two, of wood preservative on the railway shed.
That means taking off any hinges, door locks etc - that includes a replica GWR numberplate that I bought nearly 40 years ago to use as out house number plate.
That needs a coat of paint, I thought.
So in between slapping on the Ronseal I have made a start on the brass plate.
Sandblasted.

Now it’s time for a sandwich.

Very nice. What is the sandwich for? What's in the sandwich? You mean it is lunch?

Glad you put a smiley on the end - worried you were being serious.
Toasted ham and cheese.
I did spray the black and green bits later this afternoon and I have a little touching up of the edges to do then I must leave it to thoroughly dry before the final polishing and a coat of lacquer.
The good news is that I managed to finish two of the four sides of the shed.

Very nice. I have a few wagon plates... Some are pre BR though some are BR. Also have some wagon repair plates. They are all heavy things.

Some paint, polish and lacquer and it’s done.

And today I got distracted from the plate by rebuilding a waterfall for the pond.

Yes Brian it is.
When we bought our first house, no. 74, I spotted an advert in Railway Modeller for house numbers as replica GWR brass loco plates. I think it cost about £25 in 1982. This is the first full repaint and I fully expect it to see me out.
Kids can sell it for scrap then.
