Champions of Europe

Hi everyone,
As a life-long Liverpool FC supporter, I can't not post some kind of comment about winning the Champions League. I can't say that I enjoyed watching most of the game, excluding the first and last two minutes. I was just too nervous, but I think that they managed the game well even if they didn't produce much beautiful football.

I've got the Victory Parade on the TV now and it looks fantastic. Hundreds of thousands of people out in the spring sunshine going crazy lining the streets to see the players and the European Cup. I'm thinking 'I've got a model of a red open-top bus, if I bought some expensive good quality model figures to put in the bus and a few hundred cheap figures from China on eBay to be the fans, I could recreate the Victory Parade on the layout.

Just a thought, Ian Alan

Congratulations Ian. My daughter wasn’t so happy. Incidentally my oldest friends son used to be their goal keeper, Brad Jones..

I must confess WTD that I'd rather forgotten about Brad Jones, but anyone who pulled on a Liverpool shirt has my respect.

I've read that Merseyside police have said that over 750,000 people came out to see the Victory Parade. I wonder how much it would cost to buy that many figures from China. I'd have to buy a bunch of traffic lights as well to stick figures onto and stock up on red paint for all those replica shirts the figures would wear. ;)

As it is 00 scale, you could use 750 000 / 72 figures, a lot but a lot less (Answer to division = 10 417 rounded up!)

I think that I would have to buy them ready-painted or it would take me ten years to paint that lot.

You could reduce the number of figures down to two.

Two Everton supporters sitting in their house.

Hi Everybody,
It's taken me 10 months to do it, but the Liverpool FC Champions League Victory Parade is on the layout, 99% complete.

There are more photos on my thread in Members Layouts. The tread is called The Shankly and Gdynia Railway, page 14, post 134.
Many thanks for your patience, Ian Alan
PS I hope it was worth the wait.

And you managed to model all their supporters. :D

My best mates son was one of Liverpools goalkeepers.

Nice to add something personal to a layout.

Have you modelled a car with no wheels propped up on a few bricks yet? :D
