Now where was it I read where the making the fiddle yard into a station? By doing so, trains could run from fiddle yard/Station B to station A/Fiddle Yard and therefore vice versa.

A little bit of working out and the fiddle yard on my layouts were relaid to form a station.

As it would be only be me running any odd train to Lybster Station, all I have to do is run trains from Sovereign Street to Lybster. Sovereign Street would be classed as the 'fiddle yard'.

The track already laid in the fiddle yard was suitable for my needs with the added two points at the station to allow a run round.

Here are some pictures of the 'finished layout'.

Just a little lighthearted fun that has now given me three layouts on one track layout.

I live in Lybster, Parts of the old line from Wick to Lybster still exist, Lybster golf club house is acctually the main Lybster station building and is basicaly as it was when the line closed inthe 40`s. The station halt building at Thrumster is still there and now lived in. There are still a few stone bridges left and quite a few cuttings and embankments. If you would like any photo`s of what is left, Let me know and I will take them, Regards, Tom

Hi Tom.

My building of Lybster Station started as a challenge from a colleague of mine as a bit of fun. The photographs of Lybster I have are very old and 'grainy'.

If you could post a photo of the old station building (and anything around the station you think suitable) I would appreciate very much.

nice back scene, some classic old hornby resins, which i love, and you have the bones, getting back scene rght off he bat will save so many issues later, and the rest you can gradually improve, good bones, and some nice pieces.
