A number of years ago I built my own layout on a 6 by 3 foot baseboard.
It was basically a 4 branch layout.
I made it fully automatic and shunted 3 trains back and forth into 4 sidings.
The direction and speed was controlled by a microcontroller.
The 2 sets of points were controlled by the microcontroller.
I added an LCD destination board.
I added a digital audio station announcement system.
I sold it about a couple of years back.
Since then I have got involved with an electronic shuttle controller and a station stop controller with 2 aspect signal controller.
