Thanks for posting that film it is nice to see what things used to be. Just think a lot of those sleepers are in peoples gardens now. At my old house in Maldon I had two very long sleepers as gate posts on my side driveway. They looked nice indeed and held up two heavy wrought iron drive gates 6ft high.
If only there was enough hours in the day..................John

In my last house the bedroom floor had a very bad slope on it so I had a bed made for me out or old hardwood railway sleepers with adjustable feet, i still use it now, it as the rail fixing bolt holes on the headboard a real one off.

The only downside with the bed is it weighs a ton. I had to dismantle it completely when we moved home.its a beautiful red coloured hardwood.
