Painting bench
Painting bench
Some of you may recall that I had set up a painting area in an old shed, well away from the railway room. I’ve been adding to my collection of Hobbyzone racking but found that I was still prone to cluttering up the workspace.
A trip to Ikea found me with two ‘Moppe’ draw units which I cut down to form an all round draw platform to hide my clutter collection and raise the paint racks to a better height.

Re: Painting bench
I think you need help Steve. Your paint/workbench should look like this.

Re: Painting bench
Goodness! All that paint. D0 you do spaying as well as brushing? I need a BR Green class 71 resprayed.
Re: Painting bench
I’ve painted plenty of models from scratch and done a reasonable amount of weathering, but never a loco repaint.
Is it a complete livery change or a tidy up of an existing colour scheme?

Re: Painting bench
Hmmm.... IPA attack on the green paintwork! So a complete body respray and lining transfers or bow pen lining!
Tried to obtain a replacement body only but none available. May be cheaper in the end to buy a new Hornby Cl71?

Re: Painting bench
No promises, but I’ll have a look at it at the Faversham show if you like.

Thanks Stu.
Referring back to Brian’s post - I will be attempting a repaint of the class 71 once the paint arrives. Or more correctly, when I have collected it from the Post Office who couldn’t deliver it today.
