Inflation!!!!!!!!

I've just received an email from Rails of Sheffield about new arrivals. One of these being the Bachmann Class 411 4-CEP EMU (weathered) and it cost £382.46. I bought a new Class 411 4-CEP EMU from Kernows in 2013 and it cost £64.95 - obviously weathering is a very high cost extra.

Even the unweathered versions are £382.86 so it's not the cost of weathering. I too bought a couple of 4-CEPs in 2013 for £69 each. Don't understand why the high price now as there are no new tooling costs to recover.
Incidentally I took the wife to a routine hospital check-up yesterday and while I was waiting I noticed some Model Rail magazines on the table. Now I know such places tend to have some quite old magazines but these were from 2007! Thumbing through the Hatton's, Rails and Kernow adverts was quite a revelation. We'll not see those prices again. Thankfully I have a fairly full stock quota now purchased at those prices, and the upside I suppose is that the second prices are rising in step but still have a long way to go....

I have two locos on preorder and I think they will be my last ones. Prices are getting ridiculous.

I have a full collection of Supercar Classics Magazine - 1983/1991. If you could see the prices of some now so called "supercars" it would make you cry - Ferrari 365GTB4 (Daytona) £25K - a good one now costs £600K.

I also have some pre-orders in the pipeline - hopefully 2020 will be a cheap year? A couple of things on the "not essential wishlist" - a set of Bachmann Birdcage Coaches for example - they'll have to wait.

I have loads of stock I'll never use - the problem is I can't convince myself to sell any of it!
Another email from Rails - the new DIGITAL SOUND WESTERN PULLMAN 6 Car Unit and the Dynamis Ultima are now available to pre-order individually!
The six car unit is available for just £675.00.
