Tyre Gauge

Whilst tidying up my work station prior to my next scratch build, i found this gauge. It is a GWR tyre gauge dated 1911, it`s approximately 6x4 inches.

Gauges like this are still in use to check the wear of the wheel tread and flange. No doubt there is now an electronic equivalent, but when I retired ten years ago our C&W were still using them.
