Recommended 6 pin DCC decoders for N?

Hi All,

I'm investigating a switch to DCC and I have a largish (88) collection of locos, some of which are DCC ready.
I'm now considering switching over to DCC and assessing which locos to keep and the associated costs to enable DCC.
I will probably sell off locos not DCC or to be converted to fund the DCC stuff.

Any recommendations of decoders for 6 pin DCC ready Farish and Dapol locos.
For those analogue I may want to DCC hardwire any recommendations on a decoder for conversion, manufacturers will be mainly Farish and Minitrix.
I'm not really interested in sound, as my planned layout will be in a small room and I think the noise levels would drive me mad. :)

Appreciate any responses.

Thanks in advance.

When I chipped my N gauge fleet I went for the cheapest 6 pin I could find - for the life of me, I can't remember who made them but they came on blue heatshrink - possibly Hatton's. Always worked well for me
Since then, I've noticed the 6 pins have become a bit more expensive.
As for hardwiring in N, have a look at the Digitrax range, there are some very small decoders that suit N - I have a few in some tank engines.

For high quality and low'ish price I always go with the Zimo MX622 now replaced with the Zimo MX617 both first class decoders and only £20, also with a look is the Gaugemaster DCC23, if space is a bit tight the Zimo MX616 will fit in the smallest if spaces but at £32 It's a little pricey as is the Lenz Silver/Gold Mini decoders.

Laisdcc do a nice cheap 6 pin decoder at £9.99 but it's a little long to fit some locos and not as smooth running as any of the above.

Thanks for the replies.

So maybe 3 decoders per loco sold depending on the sale price.
