I did search first but couldn't find anything current, so, are the various track cleaning wagons on sale any good and, if so, which one(s) is/are recommended? Thanks for any advice. I am getting old and reaching some of the track is getting impossible (before the tunnels are contemplated)....

I regularly use a Sharge track cleaner - a tank of IPA that drips onto a pad that is dragged around the track by a sturdy loco (or two). Great for awkward to reach areas.

Thanks; never heard of that one but found it on line. It looks similar to the old Triang one I've got but perhaps a lot heavier?

Yes, much heavier. Works very well, but you will need a strong loco to pull or push it.

I've also got a Sharge Track cleaning tanker - it works well and is a lot cheaper than the American CMX(?) version.

Thanks; I think I'll give this a go as the Triang one doesn't put any pressure on the pad so whilst it is getting dirty, the track isn't really clean enough. I've quite a bit of track that is either hard to reach or impossible; that coupled with arthritis makes it a bit difficult!
