Mine is Philip D Hawkins and my favourite painting is Duchess of the Night.
His paintings are so atmospheric you can almost feel the rain and smell the oil and steam.

Terrence Cuneo is still my favourite.

Used to have this hanging over the fireplace. Sold it a few years ago.

Now have this David Shepherd print in the train room.

They are lovely pictures.

I do not have a favourite artist. I have photographs of the Border Counties Railway line instead. Until recently we used to live very near to the old line. Nearly every other day travel to Hexham or Hawick. The road and old railway line running next to each other.

I am with WTD about Terence Cuneo, I have loved his atmospheric pictures for a long time, One I particularly like is Signal Success of 1962.

This features steam and electric trains in the late evening at Norwood Junction.

I do also like David Shepherd's paintings especially of the final days of steam on the Southern.

These are days and places I remember.

Yes - spent an inordinate amount of time looking for them.

There is a furniture maker in Yorkshire who also does church pews, lecterns, etc and his trade mark is a mouse which hides in the most unlikely places on his products.

Robert Thompson's items are often sold at auction houses etc. at high prices, yet can be bought brand new from the factory today at retail price.
