Motor Magnet remagnetiser

#1

Post by Tony House »

Hi

I hoping someone can help me I am currently servicing and running my collection of 250 plus locomotives, and have come across a number where the magnet has become week, some so weak the motor will not run.

I am looking to buy a motor magnet re-magnetiser. Can anyone advice me where I can buy one from please?

Oooh. I can't remember who it is. Someone on one of the model railway sites makes them. Actually it is a tool I could also get as though I only have one loco that could do with it, there is always that odd loco one picks up at a bargain price only to find the reason! Haha.
It is a good idea to buy one. (Though I have always wanted one since I first could have done with one, I didn't have the funds to buy one. I could possibly make one one day? I would need to find out how, but I would rather buy one from someone who knows what they are doing :P ).

Hi Rog,

Getting 50 Loco motors re-magnetised is not cheap either.

I dont consider Mine was expensive. Its a great kit, even comes with compass and meter. Done most of my 3 rail locos, and could sell it on ebay, for more than i paid, as they are keenly sought.
