A short introduction
A short introduction
I'll have to keep this short, otherwise I won't get any (proper) work done this afternoon.
I've been back and active in the hobby for just four years. I'm a member of the South Hants MRC, and several line and gauge societies. After too long working on the new (to us) house and getting the loft ready, I've built some baseboards and I'm about to start the track.
I'll come clean ... my grand plan is Barnstaple Junction in 4mm - I can just fit a reasonable 5-coach+GBL train in the platform. I've decided (after much prevarication) to forget EM and got to 00, but in the 4-SF version (see http://4-sf.uk for more info).
It's a long story, but almost everything will be a bit unconventional ... from the plastic-topped baseboards, to the radio control;ed locomotives. I'll say more as I go on.

Welcome David
We do indeed look forward to reading more from you. 4-SF looks interesting.

Hi David and welcome. We are quite good at unconventional, so you’re at home here. R-

Hello and welcome David. I am a non-railway person but love the idea of trains. My only 'train set' was the clock-work version. So I am really reading the posts and learning. I will be interested in anything that keeps loco's on lines . I am looking forward to future posts from you.
Jim.

Welcome to the friendly forum David. Will look forward to your post re: radio control. Was tempted myself 4 years ago but it was still in its infancy.

Most people are shocked when they find out how bad I am as an electrician
