............ perhaps not. This was making the news a few weeks ago, unlikely I know.

I see today that an 80 room hotel in China built in 2018 has completely collapsed.

It was claimed on the news, always true, that the Chinese could build HS2 for a fraction of the cost, now we know why. Parts of their new high speed train network, built in record time, fell to bits because they failed to put enough cement in the concrete. Probably the same with this hotel.

Just thought it would make a change to virus news.

What virus news?

It doesn't say much for the hospital they built in a week.

At least the hospital was meant to be temporary. The hotel wasn’t. :D

I bet they even fit combustible cladding to the outside of their skyscraper buildings...... oh wait that was us in the Western world........standards in almost every walk of life now frequently compromised by cost pressures and a lack of authoritative control eg B737Max......

Yes things do go wrong but China appear to be world leaders.

Apparently they call it Tofu building because of the concrete’s resemblance to that ‘orrible gunge some folk eat.

At least if the Chinese were to build HS2 - it could be finished by July, maybe August - this year.
