Not Karl Marx, but the legendary toy maker Louis Marx, who dominated the American industry for at least the 1950's.
Briefly, the wagons are vintage Marx, not later than 1960's. These rather simple looking toys, a bit like Playcraft, in
general scale and appearance, are astonishingly durable and the wheel and flange is such that they track as if held
on by glue. The Pemco diesel, is a splinter group of renegade engineers and designers who decided to make their own
model trains, as they feared (aptly) that the Tyco brand from whence they came, was going downhill in quality and design.
Pemco hit the market at about the same time as video games were coming to the fore, and only last a very few years before
vanishing. Before they did, they made some exceptionally nice and affordable pieces, like the Louisville and Nashville
locomotive.
Whilst cooking and running errands, I whipped up this little video for my own enjoyment of these great vintage pieces.
