Peco Point Motor Extensions

#1

Post by greggthebuilder55 »

Good afternoon

Looking for advice on how to attach some extensions I have bought for some standard length Peco point motors. I have bought a set of ten pins to extend them by but they don't seem to glue well.

There were no instructions with them and the seller has not responded to say what I should do - I have tried super glue but they come out very easily - I have 10 motors I want to extend to finish a layout extension

Thanks for any advice you may have

Hi
Firstly. welcome to the forum

The Peco PL10 extension pin is in two parts The long pin and a brass tube that connects the PL10 pin the the extension.
I have used both Superglue and Epoxy as a bond. I also use a pair of pliers to lightly crush the tube onto each pin as well.

I've never used them but I would think Araldite would be the best.

What glue are you using. Super glue has always worked for me.

I have tried Gorilla Super Glue - but I will try with the tip of nipping the copper joining tube - thanks for the suggestions !!
