static grass for N Gauge

#1

Post by airfix27ra »

I have heard a lot about static grass, but no experience of it and have seen it on some layouts at shows,
but so far only seen it on OO layouts.
Can it be used on N Gauge? As it does appear to be a bit big.
If yes, what sort of equipment do I need, from which manufactures and what have people found to be the easiest
and effective to use.
Also, is it expensive?
Thanks.

Have a look around this website:

https://www.wwscenics.com/

WWS are the suppliers for the static grass and applicators from Peco.

Although I have used some static grass to highlight fence edges etc on my N gauge layout, personally I wouldn’t use static’s too much in this scale. The shortest fibers available are 2mm - the equivalent of 1 foot tall.
Scatter materials are, in my opinion, a better option.

Thanks.
Yep, scatter it is. I had a look at the site you suggested, too expensive an outlay.
